Wingback Key Cache

A minimal, machined stash for your vital details and emergency cash. Designed in London. Made in the UK.

The key cache is designed to enhance and complement your everyday carry, while discreetly adding functionality.

It neatly fits onto your keyring while containing a secure compartment to store banknotes and contact details in case your keys go missing.

Having emergency cash tucked away will spare your blushes when you leave home without your wallet. It could even save your bacon on your travels – a backup £100 note can get you out of a lot of tricky situations.

Plus, tucking a little "if found" note inside will help track down your keys if you misplace them (and the reward is already in there).

Video instructions on how to fold the notes to fit inside can be found below.

For an additional £5, you can request an inscription on the bottom of the key cache (maximum 6 characters). Please note, all inscriptions use capital letters.

After submitting your order, we will follow up by email to confirm the inscription.

Our Materials

Quality materials make quality products. They enhance every facet of design, turning something purely functional into something special. That’s why Wingback prides themselves on sourcing the best raw materials from around the world. The metals used in the Key Cache are all used for aerospace and marine applications and are sourced entirely from Europe.

Choose between stainless steel or brass.

Stainless steel embodies strength. Robust and highly corrosion resistant, it is heavy enough to feel the quality behind it but will not weigh down your pocket. It will confidently withstand almost anything you can throw at it without ever losing a shade of its original glory.

Brass CZ121

Eye-catching yet understated, brass is bold. It has antimicrobial properties, is ideal for machining and ages impeccably well. Just like Wingback's leather wallets, it develops a rich patina, becoming steadily more unique over time.

Engineering

The metal designs are custom made from start to finish. A solid block of metal is CNC machined to produce incredibly precise parts and mechanisms which are a pleasure to use. Each one is individually inspected and tested to ensure it withstands the test of time. Wingback's manufacturing partner make predominantly aerospace components and have BS EN AS 9100 accreditation. Basically, they make things really well.

Proud to be made in the UK. At their manufacturing partners workshop, a length of bar stock is rotated at high speed, while a cutting tool removes material to create the cache geometry and screw threads. The custom designed knurling tool is then used to apply the textured surface to the main body of the cache — providing both grip and visual distinction, whilst hiding the split between the two parts.

Wingback custom designed the knurling tool to get the exact finish they were after. The result is a surface that’s smooth enough so it won’t cause abrasion to anything in your pocket but rough enough that it provides ample grip so you can open your Key Cache in a hurry.
